Cognos Specialist required for a leading global insurer to work with all areas of the business to support their current Cognos models, implement best practice and mentor Cognos users in building new models. You will also work on time-driven projects across a full project life cycle ie scope, design, build, test, handover of the model and training of users.
Key Responsibilities:
. Design and develop complex, standard and ad hoc IBM Cognos reports
. Ensure standards and best practices are adhered to
. Provide support to the business on all aspects of Cognos including mentoring and helpdesk support
. General administration, security and maintenance
. Maintenance of the in-house Cognos Knowledge base
. Involvement in any future Cognos upgrades or fix packs and testing as required
Technical skills required:
* Cognos Version 10.1 - Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Business Insight Advanced, Transformer
. Meta Datamodelling using IBM Cognos Framework Manager
. Developing reports and dashboards using relational and multi-dimensional data sources
. Ability to work through a project from start to finish
. SQL Server with the ability to maintain and write basic Transact SQL and understanding of databases
. Ability to understand, amend and suggest improvements to existing reports
Desirable skills:
. Cognos Planning - Contributor, Analyst and Manager
. Experience in integrating Cognos Planning models with Cognos BI reports
. SSIS knowledge
. TM1 knowledge
