Senior Payroll Administrator/Consultant/Officer - ADP Freedom

As one of the UK's leading audit and advisory firms, we offer a lively and stimulating environment where your goal will be to provide high level administrative support to the Payroll section, working as part of the UK Finance team.

This is a varied role that will allow the job holder to cover all aspects in completing the monthly payroll run. The job holder will have responsibility for processing payroll related amendments for specific sections of salaried staff.

As part of the Finance team, the Payroll section is responsible for the regular monthly payment of over 11,500 employees based in the UK. Based in Watford, the Payroll department has eight permanent staff dealing with the payment of employees from all of KPMG's UK offices.

The Responsibilities

General Administration

. Assist in the timely and accurate payment of over 11,500 monthly staff.
. Have specific responsibility for timely and accurate payment of a specified group of monthly paid staff (approximately 2,000+).
. Deal with queries from employees and statutory bodies such as HMRC.
. Prepare data for input onto the payroll system.
. Key data onto the payroll system
. Check data and amend errors, where necessary.
. Prepare Ad-hoc manual payments as and when required.
. Perform 'Rota' jobs such as distribution of post, staff loan payments, administration of the internal Payroll email inbox etc.
. Sort and distribute monthly payslips and update payslip distribution list on a timely basis.
. Sort monthly input for filing.
. Maintain Maternity leavers' records and their related excel spreadsheets.
. Assist the Team Leader as and when required.
. Perform Ad-hoc duties as and when necessary

Support

. Be a first point of contact for telephone and email queries from employees and relevant statutory bodies.
. To act in all instances within the guidelines of the Data Protection Act.
. Maintain strong links with the HR function and other related departments.

The Individual

. Excellent knowledge of payroll, ideally with working knowledge of the ADP Freedom payroll system
. Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
. A team player whose focus will be on their own sector of employees and the needs of the section as a whole.
. Good communication skills and an excellent telephone manner.
. Have the ability to remain calm under pressure to produce work to very tight deadlines having a high attention to detail and accuracy. Have initiative and ability to cope with erratic workloads, prioritising own tasks.
. Be enthusiastic, assertive, committed, with a bright personable manner, a sense of humour and most importantly common sense.
. Must have the ability and be willing to learn new skills to enhance the skills database of the section.
. Be punctual but with some flexibility on working hours.
. The key personal skills for this role are: initiative, task management, resilience, and client service.
