This position is available on a W2 basis only. No corp-to-corps.

As a Web Solutions SharePoint Business Analyst you will be responsible for working with internal and external customers to gather and document business and functional requirements, create high-quality functional design specifications, define system configurations that meet the needs of the user community, and otherwise ensuring that solutions are fit for purpose. You will also be responsible for ensuring the functionality of enterprise applications remain fit for purpose and maintain the highest possible service levels. Responsibilities will also include evaluating new tools, modules, version releases, and third-party applications, and providing recommendations to management regarding their usefulness and applicability.

Some essential functions of this position include:

Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, gather and analyze high-level business requirements, and create/utilize high-level scope definitions that include estimates for costs, work efforts, staffing profiles, and timelines
Elicit detailed business requirements using a variety of techniques to include interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process workflows, value stream mapping, prototypes, storyboards, use case scenarios, and ITIL Service Design
Critically evaluate business requirements, decompose high-level information into functional requirements, validate that requirements are based upon business needs rather than user preferences, reconcile conflicts, and then document the functional requirements
Serves as the conduit between customers and the software developers, collaborates with customers and software developers to define a to-be process that is usable, well architected, and fit for purpose.
. Documents the agreed-upon tobe process in a formal Functional Design Specification.
Continuously monitors the design and suggests improvements to make the service offering as effective as possible without impact to the agreed upon requirements
Creates system test scripts and conducts preliminary testing of new/modified system components
Evaluates new functionality, tools, modules, version releases, and third-party applications and makes recommendation to management regarding their applicability and fitness into the overall enterprise system

Qualifications
- External Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related study and 4+ years of applicable work experience, or 6+ years of applicable work experience

- A minimum of 3 years experience and full understanding of SharePoint 2007 and 2010 functionality and capabilities

- Experience in designing solutions using SharePoint Designer, SharePoint Designer workflows, lists, libraries, and OOTB web parts

- A strong understanding of SharePoint best practices and platform strengths and limitations

- Competent with common SharePoint administration tasks

- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint related tools, eg SharePoint Designer (2007 & 2010), InfoPath (2007 or 2010), Visio 2010, and MS Project 2010.

- Experience using collaboration features and publishing features

- Microsoft and other Professional Certifications a plus

- Effective interpersonal skills and proficient verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group to include executives, managers, and subject matter experts

- Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
