Prestigous Financial Firmsupport is currently seeking a Microsoft Application Developer with strong SQL and .NET development skills. Candidate will enhance the application environment which is a complex architecture and contains several systems that contain data and processes that have foundational impact on key workflows and applications used by the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis, creation and/or maintenance of these applications by using the tools, methodologies and processes established to meet the needs of the organization.

As a team member with subject matter expertise, the Senior Application Developer will be an active member in the full life cycle of the delivery of solutions. This may include development, implementation, testing and supporting the solution. In addition, the individual must be committed to sharing knowledge and proactively working to foresee and avoid possible single points of failure within the team and the IT organization.

Responsibilities:

Develop sound technical solutions to meet user requirements

Develop high level and detailed designs for assigned development initiatives

Develop and execute quality assurance routines to ensure quality of software

Ensure that system fixes/enhancements meet intended business needs according to defined requirements

Assist in the planning, development and deployment of software releases

Inform manager and user community of progress, issues and concerns

Resolve business-technology issues that impact production processes and system availability

Analyze, design and development changes to system batch processes as required

Take ownership for the resolution of technical issues for assigned third-party vendor applications

Plan, test, and deploy bug fix, enhancement, and upgrade software releases as required

Share knowledge of work products, including but not limited to developed code.

Develop a strong understanding of business requirements; working with business users to define technical and process requirements

Identify and recommend best approach to solve business issues

Document business requirements and create detailed requirements for proposed solution changes. Analysis includes user requirements as well technology requirements.

Strong interaction with end users and business sponsors required

Periodically monitor support workflow and work with the Application team to prioritize and assign problems and incidents

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
7+ years of solid experience in Business Application Software design and development
Investment management industry experience highly preferred
Interpersonal/Communication/Language skills:
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Strong business acumen and service orientation
Client service-oriented
mathematical/analytical/reasoning skills:
Strong problem recognition and resolution skills
Analysis skills that can produce multiple viable solutions to a given issue
Develop and evaluate innovative solutions
Ability to implement solutions quickly once resolution identified
Experience with one or more of the following applications/tools a plus - Portia, Eagle PACE & Performance, Tableau, Microsoft Suite of reporting and analytical tools
Langages: C# .Net, Java experience a plus
Working knowledge of iterative and agile methodologies
Batch management tools: Tivoli Work Scheduler (TWS) or other comparable package
Scripting: PowerShell, Perl
RDBMS: Microsoft SQL Server - Stored Procedures, SSRS-Reporting Services, DTS/SSIS
