Job Description

As a lead Engineer you are responsible for realization of precision mechanical function development: In-build Service mechanisms ensuring to meet the specifications in terms of safety, reliability, stability, contamination, cost effectiveness, manufacturability and serviceability. You continuously improve the quality of the mechanical architecture. You are working within a multidisciplinary project, steering one or more designers in your team. You interface cross project with Lead Engineers, architects and system engineers.

Key deliverables Development of electro-mechanical In-build Service mechanisms (RSSU, TMSU, IPSM, RCU Service mechanism, definition of serviceability concepts).

* Translate performance specifications into design specification

* Define electro-mechanical concepts

* Input to Functional/department roadmap (product, module, functionality, competence)

* Creation and validation of new concepts

* Prepare planning for modules and sub-modules

* Optimization of the design, with a team of designers and architects

* Supplier contact for design and drawing reviews on manufacturability

* Definition and execution of final tests to verify the specifications

* Cooperation with module integration into the complex systems

Education

* Technical High school or University with specialization in Precision-, Micro engineering

* Accurate positioning and adjustments; Tribology; Mechanics of materials Mechatronics

Experience

* 5 year proven track record as a Lead Engineer or Architect in machine domain ('machine bouw"), in development of electro-mechanical mechanisms or mechatronic modules.

Preferably also experience in one or more of the following competences:

* Driving and guiding mechanisms/guiding rails

* Tribology, coatings,

* Joining technologies: fasteners, adhesives, welding

* Fatigue of elastic elements

* Design in vacuum

* Advanced materials (ceramics, glass, composites, coatings)

Personal skills

* Team player with good communicational skills, can challenge team members and stakeholders. Able to steer and coach designers in a small team

* Strong analytical ability with a pragmatic attitude

* Helicopter view (zoom in - zoom out)

* Creative thinking capability

* Good communication skills

* Good knowledge of English

* Siemens NX certified professional on modelling, structures, drafting and assemblies.
