Software Engineer - German Speaker - Contract - Birmingham

Successful candidates will be fluent in written and spoken German and have expertise in Diagnostics & CAN tools in the automotive domain.

Job Profile:

The Software Team is responsible for the development and release of software for a number of high profile and challenging global applications with European, North American and Chinese vehicle manufactures. A software engineer is required to support diagnostics activities for a specific project.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To act as the primary contact for diagnostics on a specific project
  • Review/evaluation of customer specifications and flow down of requirements
  • Creation of diagnostics related work products for release
  • CAN/Diagnostics testing and fault finding

Essential:

  • Fluent German (both spoken and written)
  • Good knowledge of ISO garage diagnostics
  • DOORS experience
  • Knowledge of automotive fault handling/reporting concepts (DTCs etc.)
  • Familiarity with garage diagnostics tools
  • Knowledge of Vector CAN tools (including writing CANalyzer scripts)
  • Experience of CAN/Diagnostics testing
  • Ability to support fault finding of CAN/diagnostics issues
  • Self motivated
  • Good communication skills

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of VW specific garage diagnostics
  • Familiarity with VW specific garage diagnostics tools
  • ODIS tester
  • ODXcreate
