Finance SME - Banking/Insurance - Bristol

My client, a leading financial services company, are recruiting for a Finance SME, to join the insurance finance team on a 3 month rolling contract based in Bristol.

Overview

To define and implement the strategic Asset Data & Reporting solution to support Investment Accounting and the wider Insurance business.

Working closely with the business to understand and document business requirements, define and agree improved solutions covering:
- addressing data gaps in the current solution and supporting future data requirements
- improving and standardising finance processes, controls and reporting
- working with IT to define improved systems solutions

Essential Requirements

Qualified accountant with strong technical experience in being able to map detailed investment asset positions (eg securities & bonds) into IFRS reporting structures.
Knowledge of SII reporting would be helpful, but not essential.
Knowledge and experience of finance processes (particularly statutory year-end reporting and regulatory reporting), controls and reporting within investment accounting and/or Insurance industry.
Strong experience in reconciling GL balances to detailed asset positions held in a DataWarehouse.
