Electronic Documentation System - Migration Support - CAD Support - Document Controller
Duration: Initially 3 months
Location: Edinburgh
My well known, established technology client urgently requires the services of a CAD Support/Document Controller/Electronic Documentation System/Migration Support Contractor to join their team and be responsible for supporting migration of Legacy drawing systems to an electronic system.
The main task for the Document Controller/Electronic Documentation System/Migration Support Contractor will be to move the current drawing set for a number of products into an electronic document control system (Agile).
My client has recently acquired a company who produce a relevant product to them. Their drawing system, mostly paper based, contains the master documentation for the products they formally made. My client needs to move these paper documents into an electronic format (PDF) and then load the documents into the businesses corporate electronic document control system.
During the migration the documents need to be allocated new drawing numbers within Agile and then this information added to a cover sheet on the PDF version of the document. For manufactured parts there are electronic drawings of the part that must also be loaded into Agile and attached to the part's record. There may be a number of drawings that need to be recreated using Solidworks if the original electronic document is not available and the content needs updated.
The ideal contractor would have the following:
* Experience in a drawing office or other controlled drawing environment, or an R&D environment
* Experience with an electronic document control system.
* Good familiarity with PCs and Adobe Acrobat.
* Preferably some experience with ISO9000 or similar quality systems - not essential!
* Experience with Solidworks for mechanical drawings or exposure to an other relevant CAD system/tools etc

This is an urgent contract with Telephone interview slots scheduled for Friday the 6th of February. The ideal start date will be Monday the 9th of February.
