SEN Teacher (SpLD) A wonderful Special Needs school (SEN) in Camden is searching for an outstanding teacher to start in February 2015. The position is full-time and initially for one term, with the opportunity of it continuing into September 2015 for the right candidate. The school caters for pupils aged 5-14 with various SEN, including Autism and Speech, language and communication difficulties. Many of the pupils have associated learning difficulties including dyslexia and dyspraxia and some have autistic spectrum disorders. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to achieve excellent results and outcomes for pupils, which will show consistent improvement in relation to the goals set in their Statements of Special Educational Needs and in relation to expected attainment. The staff at this school are very welcoming and there is a real sense of a caring environment, at the same time high expectations are in place for all pupils and staff alike. Part of the job will include writing IEPs (Individual Education plans) and annual reviews and it is vital that the candidate has knowledge and experience of Paget Gorman or Makaton (signing) and can use differentiated instruction to tailor their teaching to the pupil's individual needs.
