Internal Communication Manager

13 Month Contract
Up to £295 per day

My client, a leading public sector organisation is seeking to recruit a skilled Internal Communication Manager to join their team onsite in London. As an Internal Communication Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and refining the internal communications strategy. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in successfully delivering internal communications to large workforces as well as a relevant professional communications qualification.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

*Provide strong leadership and direction to the team of 3 ensuring that the service provided to the business is of high quality and suitable for a large, geographically dispersed and operational audience.
*Develop strong relationships with the Director General and Chief Operating Officer and their offices, including Chief of Staff and providing advice to them and their senior team
*Liaise with the business to ensure the vision 'to be the Best XXX in the World', its transformation programme and priorities are communicated to staff in a timely and engaging manner
*Work collaboratively with the head of content and channels to embed new ways of working and consistently seek new ways of delivering messages to the target audience, including low cost solutions

Key Knowledge and Skills

*A relevant professional communications qualification and membership of a relevant professional body, for example the Chartered Institute of Internal Communications (CIM) or Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
*Successful track record in delivering internal communications to large and complex workforces
*Understand, and be an advocate of, the principles of staff engagement
*Excellent relationship management skills: experience of working with others both internal and external to own team/organisation and at different levels of seniority
*High level of political awareness
*Experience of managing a small team, recognising good performance and managing poor performance
*Experience of working in government
