WordPress Programmer (Work from home, Contractor. Potential for full time work in future)
Mequoda Group, a leading online publishing service company, needs an experienced WordPress programmer to build, maintain and manage Mequoda Online Publishing Systems for our prestigious group of book, magazine and newsletters publishing clients. The Mequoda Online Publishing System uses a variety of open source software and application service providers to provide each special-interest user community with email newsletters, a daily blog, RSS feeds, and online shopping for digital and physical branded information products.

You will be part of a dynamic team that includes information architects, graphic designers, editors, journalists, copywriters, researchers, direct marketers, usability experts, and other programmers.

Come help us build online communities for some of the world’s leading special-interest book, magazine and newsletter brands.

Responsibilities include:

Significant experience developing WordPress plugins

Thorough knowledge of WordPress theme structure

Experience integrating WordPress with other systems (such as email services, fulfillment systems, e-commerce, ad servers)

Thorough knowledge of object-oriented PHP

Good knowledge of Javascript, HTML, CSS layout, and MySQL

Knowledge of Zurb foundation and SASS a plus.

Ability to work remotely.
