Job Summary - This 4 month contract is for a Systems Analyst role within a government sector. The individual in this role will provide servicesto enhance the engagement of creating a data warehouse to enhance the engagement of creating a data warehouse to improve data access.
Engagement Description:
Candidate will have a balance of Windows, Microsoft SQL Server knowledge, SQL Server tool sets, ETL methodologies and programming skills. Candidate will participate in requirements and process meetings between project stakeholders, consisting of the organizations business staff. Minimize disruption to the business during transition. Assist in the design and creation of the data dictionary/metadata repository. Contribute in technical review of data warehouse design with other IT team members. Document project for knowledge transfer to organizations support and technical staffs: operational procedures, data quality management methods, etc. Planning and execution of the transfer of data from production sources into a new data warehouse (target). Identify potential challenges and opportunities early on in the project to allow for proactive management of these challenges and opportunities. The candidates main responsibilities will be the creation of an ETL process to extract data from various databases and files into MS SQL Server tables. Identify and employ the most appropriate ETL methods to move the required data into the new solution. Ensure that all data is migrated accurately and completely. Ensure that the integrity of the migrated data is maintained. Generate and run DDL statements to create the new MS SQL Server database objects. Use SQL Server Management Studio to create and deploy stored procedures. Create Windows batch scripts to facility batch processes. Utilize MS Data Transformation Services. Document the structure of the destination database objects. Normalize data where appropriate. Translate various source data types into MS SQL Server data types. Participate in database schema design sessions with organizations staff to ensure seamless coordination of the migration of production data into a data warehouse. Determine data security and privacy requirements and policies for the protection of all data, while being extracted from various data sources.
