Description
The Technical Services Performance Test Team proactively conducts fast fail, stress, load & endurance, and hardware testing within upcoming and emerging software releases, including mobile/digital. The goal is to ensure that these future releases will not negatively affect system performance or generate new issues in our restaurants. Proprietary and industry standard tools are utilized to test and obtain results. The ideal candidate will be part of a six person cross-functional team and is responsible for executing and assisting management of the day to day testing within the lab.Principle Accountabilities:
Ability to effectively setup and maintain hardware within a physical lab: Back Office Servers, network Switches and cabling, printers, monitors, cash drawers, coin changers and kiosks.
Ability to effectively install, maintain, and troubleshoot software releases, patches, and configurations on various devices.
Ability to accurately identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues independently.
Self-motivated, self-learning, and resourceful, who leverages available SME's and resources when solving issues prior to escalation. Includes working effectively working with other areas of the world.
Ability to work in a fast paced and often changing environment.
Discipline to self manage, prioritize workload, and execute for results.
Team player, who is resourceful and can assist others to complete tasks as needed.
Pays attention to detail and can accurately and concisely document activities and issues. Includes follow-up on issue resolution.
Maintains up-to-date awareness of QA/testing standards, guidelines, industry trends, etc.
Assists in the development of QA/testing plan(s) and test cases.
Follows and executes plans within a testing initiative. Adheres to the appropriate project management disciplines.
Identifies opportunities to improve the QA/testing process, including increasing cost-effectiveness.
Skills Required:
Technical knowledge and strong understanding of Microsoft Windows XP, 7, 8, and Server. Includes system file structure, registry, services, error reporting, and configuration.
Technical knowledge of TCP/IP and ability to configure networking settings.
Experience of Scripting, maintaining, and debugging JavaScript & C++ code to meet testing needs.
Strong and confident verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to quickly summarize results & issues.
Experience with gathering, manipulating, analysing, and representing large amounts of data in a confident, actionable, and concise manner. Includes benchmarking and comparative analysis using business statistics.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Industry knowledge and use of Performance Test tools is a plus (TestComplete, QTP, Loadrunner, etc.)
Point Of Sale experience a plus.
