Description
A Mechanical Systems Engineer is urgently required to work on a contract basis in Derbyshire.
Working for a leading Rail manufacturer, the key responsibilities will include:
- Understanding customer requirements, gathering and analysing technical data in order to develop and document high quality, safe, reliable and cost effective vehicle modification or maintenance optimisation solutions under the Engineering change process.
- Organising and structuring personal workload to achieve consistent on time delivery against the Engineering Plan. Estimating costs and schedules.
- Carrying out high integrity validation of vehicle modifications undertaken against industry standards. Identifying and thoroughly reviewing and closing out all credible risks, developing and participating in system test procedures or other validation approaches as appropriate.
- Providing technical expertise in support of Customer Service, Manufacturing, Operations and Maintenance Manual production.
- Providing Technical Support to depot based engineering teams, assisting projects to overcome in service issues in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Mechanical engineering studies.
- Previous mechanical systems experience is essential.
- Rail industry experience desirable but not essential.
- Strong MS Office knowledge.
- Strong communication/interpersonal and problem solving skills.
