Wholesale Credit and Market Risk (WMR) is responsible for the measurement and management of risk and exposure in the company and larger and more complex customers and book products. The team also faces off to regulators and auditors in support of these models and the related external accounting standards. One of the key systems in use by WMR is the Daily Risk Reporting (DRR) system which consumes and aggregates global

A number of initiatives within Daily Risk Reporting are in flight or in the early stages of initiation. These initiatives include:

  • Aligning data sourcing between Group Risk and Group Finance functions
  • Data lineage and reconciliation projects in support of regulatory initiatives
  • Enhanced reporting tools and system functionality

To facilitate with this expansion, a WCR SWD Systems Analyst is required.

The WCR SWD Systems Analyst will work with central WCR Change Delivery (CD) and WMR teams to ensure that requirements are assessed and the impacts on the systems understood, detailing the changed in appropriate functional specifications. They will also need to provide support to the development and testing teams in order to understand the functional changes specified. As such, the candidate will act as an intermediary between the WCR Change Delivery team and the SWD development team and possess excellent communication and analysis skills.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Act as point of contact for the WMR and Change Delivery teams for the Daily Risk Reporting system.
  • Provide analysis and guidance as needed while working with business partners during the creation of the business requirements.
  • Liaising with the WCR SWD and Change Teams across the platforms to help clarify and ensure the deliveries meet WMR requirements.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering, documentation and prioritisation. Work with the teams to break down requirements into rigorous level detail and translates business requirements for use by delivery partners through Functional Specifications.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Software Delivery, systems analysis, business analysis or other relevant areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow and understand technical concepts and documents.
  • Be confident working with existing system documentation (functional specifications, process descriptions) and experienced at writing well-articulated functional documents.
  • Good presentation skills and capable of summarising activities that need to be undertaken.
  • Team player with the ability to form good working relationships within and outside the WCR SWD team.
  • Good understanding of the business models, analytics and data required within a Credit Risk environment.
  • Capable, pragmatic and ability to negotiate sensible outcomes.
  • Ability to understand and interpret architecture concepts into technology requirements and solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Ability to agree designs across business stakeholders, dealing with different interests and resolving disagreements and conflicts, and sometimes needing to challenge poor requirements and design decisions.
  • Experience of working in a Financial Services Institution.
  • Good general analysis skills to interpret business requirements.
  • Good data analysis skills and understanding of relational databases.
  • Relevant systems analysis qualification or experience.
