A major manufacturer of medical equipment and medical training products requires a Development Engineer for a contract position based in Norway.

The Project:
Mechanical development of a module for a patient simulator. Typical elements requiring development may include pneumatic (air activated) flexible bellow, inflatable ‘pillow’, housing, track and guiding system, internal carriage (running on track) etc. Materials are mostly thermoplastics including TPE.

Key Responsibilities:
Accountable for designing components that integrate with Mechatronic and Electronic components. This is a ‘hands-on’ role centric about Design-Build-Test.

General Responsibilities:
* CAD development of components and sub-assemblies to agreed specification.
* DFMA of mostly injection moulded components
* Development of component level specifications and technical drawings
* Prototype builds (using traditional workshop tools, lathes, mills etc combined with printed and vacuum cast parts). Development of low-series molds (working with tooling people)
* Prototype Testing

Previous Experience:
The candidate is expected to have experience developing products in a professional setting.
The candidate is an expert in the following:
* mechanical design, design for manufacture and assembly of injection moulded parts
* CAD and PLM (i.e. NX/ Teamcenter)
* Development of Technical Specifications and Drawings
* Making prototypes using traditional workshop equipment
* Developing CAD for outsourcing of 3D Printed parts (SLS, SLA, FDM etc)

Education:
* Bachelor in Engineering or related field or Diploma level / City and Guilds plus demonstrable professional experience.
