We're a company with a social media training past (http://LKRsocialmedia.com) and software future (http://MeetEdgar.com). Your focus will be on designing marketing materials, websites, and landing pages for both sides of our business, with an emphasis on making sure your creations fit in well with our existing designs. While we have already established our brand identity for both LKR Social Media and Edgar, you will have room to grow, reinvent, and evolve our brand.
You'll be our dedicated web designer, with some branding and interface design work as well. That means:
This is the right fit for someone who loves creating their own projects top to bottom. You'll be proactively overseeing the look everything that our company produces - everything from fixing up poorly aligned text to creating innovative landing page designs. You'll spot opportunities for large and small-scale improvements and will push us to make them. This is not a boring role and you'll work at the micro and macro levels - being both our creative director and button-maker!

You are fast on your feet, dedicated to your craft, fun to be around and of course . . . an incredibly talented web designer. You dream of helping to define the design of an entire company, from home, on a flexible schedule. That's why you're perfect for this gig!
Beyond being a j'mazing designer, you can identify with our users and create the best possible experience for them as they interact with our company. This means that you'll follow every step a visitor will take as they check out our blogs and resources, learn about our products (ranging from our social media training courses to our software product, Edgar), make purchases, and in and begin interacting with our products. Everything from opting in to asking us questions will be enjoyable and simple because you've designed it that way.
Our sites are in Wordpress - you must be experienced with the Genesis framework, along with a bit of Twitter Bootstrap. You'll have the support of our WP developer for any advanced, fancy stuff that you might need help with. But you will be expected to make your own designs live. If you have experience with version control systems like Git or Mercurial, that's a HUGE plus!

We are a 9-person team, and we all work from our own homes all over the country. You'll do the same. That means you need to be great at time management - organizing your own projects and completing them on time. You will be an independent contractor for our company and our only designer. You'll report in to work PART-TIME, within normal US business hours, Monday through Friday. This is a stable job and we're looking for someone to grow with us long term. Please do not apply unless this sounds like your DREAM JOB.
