Outsource UK Ltd are actively seeking to recruit a Senior Commercial Officer for a contract role on behalf of a client.

The Client:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

The Job:
The Senior Commercial Officer will provide support to the commercial manager and IPT in commercial business winning activities and complex contracting arrangements. The role is predominantly business winning focused which requires a high degree of attention to be applied to the preparation of bid responses and securing future business.

Key Responsibility Areas
The successful Senior Commercial Officer candidate will be responsible for the following:
Commercial focal point for implementing Commercial and Major Sub-Contract flowdown strategy and resolution of commercial & contractual issues.
Generation of strategically important and other agreements in support of business development activities.
Preparation of commercial life cycle management documentation and management of commercial/legal risk for the duration of the project life cycle.
Preparation of contract and/or contract responses.
Co-ordination and preparation of robust internal offer approvals including preparation and integrity of complex pricing models.
Provide support to the preparation of compelling offers to potential partners/customers, which are backed off with any major/strategic sub-contractors as necessary.
Support and co-ordinate bid activities to ensure that bids are submitted on time and compliant with bid requirements.
Leading and/or support to contract negotiations
Preparation of optimized cash flow with minimum target of a neutral payment profile.
Maintaining strong UK and Overseas Customer and Partnering relationships as required.
Manage territory commercial and customer due diligence activities for any new relationships.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
Good computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office applications.
A professional understanding of domain specific markets, products and customers.
Knowledge of export requirements both internally and externally.
Past experience of working in a Commercial or Procurement environment (preferably in defence or aerospace), with strong knowledge of contract.
Proven ability to integrate and operate quickly and autonomously within a challenging and dynamic team environment.
Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally, built on professional trust & respect
Confident in Customer and Partner engagement and negotiation
Pro-active with a "can do" attitude
Commercial and financial acumen
