As the Communications Officer you will contribute to the achievement of key objectives by completing an array of tasks across a large program of work. You will report directly Program and will be instrumental in the smooth running of the initiative.

Your responsibilities will be:

Implementing communication plans, including information management and communications strategies that promote the key policies and programs:

  • Planning, writing, editing and publishing a variety of communication materials, which present a positive image of the client
  • Providing advice to internal clients by analysing their specific needs to deliver information, and assist in the planning, development and implementation of creative strategies as required
  • Ensuring liaison and consultation with key stakeholders
  • Undertaking specific tasks to distribute communications to stakeholders, including speech writing, media release preparation, publication management, news writing, and coordinating promotional events, launches, displays and other promotions, which highlight the achievements of the project
  • Taking responsibility for communication tasks, including information gathering and analysis writing and editing project materials, and coordinating project launches, displays and other special events
  • Assisting in the implementation of promotional launches, special events and displays

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate:

  • High level skills and experience in delivering communication services, including news writing, speech writing, publication management, and website and multimedia content development ensuring alignment to strategic business priorities and objectives.
  • Demonstrated strong skills in setting realistic goals, establishing work priorities, meeting deadlines and contributing effectively as a member of a team.
  • Proven ability to provide high quality advice in delivering communications to stakeholders, including developing and implementing innovative, soundly based communication plans that address client needs, expectations and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high level research, gather information in order to critically analyse situations, and prepare written materials that are accurate, succinct and relevant
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills, including the ability to establish working relationships and liaise with all stakeholders
