Contract Manager (Construction) - Didsbury, Manchester
12 month contract (maternity cover) to provide contract support to project operations and Supply Chain for a major international company through the review, negotiation, and execution of purchase order and Subcontract related activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Legal qualification (Law Degree, diploma, etc) - A strong background in legal contracts will substitute for this.
  • Solid understanding of service and construction contracting and contract management principles and techniques.
  • Ability to multi-task on a large number of complex contract issues
  • Ability to review and negotiate purchase contracts consistent with established business goals and legal mandates
  • Ability to develop negotiation plans for team implementation
  • Ability to develop policies and procedures for practical implementation in the field
  • Ability to sell new approaches and objectives to senior management and the field
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Understanding of financial concepts (cash flow, ROI, etc.) and impact of contract terms on those concepts.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that risks are assessed on potential projects, managed on contracted projects and reported as directed by policy.
  • Support and advise Supply Chain on contract related matters.
  • Establish negotiation objectives and achieve them through management of the negotiation process.
  • Ensure development of positive customer relationships to enhance resolution of contractual problems on an equitable, business like basis.
  • Ensure compliance with Honeywell policies and procurement related procedures, such that a legal and ethical position is maintained in all business arrangements.
Pay rate 30 - 40/hour
This is maternity cover and has the potential to last 12 months.
