Proteus Europe are currently recruiting for a Junior Level, Dutch speaking Oracle DBA to join our client who is a major player in the energy market based in Brussels, Belgium. The position is available on a 12 month contract.
Job Summary:
As a DBA within the Operations department you will be responsible for the validation/implementation of all database modifications that are requested in the production environment. You will be responsible for the management and maintenance of databases in all environments and treat the applications for amendments submitted by the developers in a timely manner. You will be reporting to the DBA team leader.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out general DBA activities on Oracle (Focus) and SQL Server databases (and possibly a small part MySQL)
You will be checking the requests for changes from the developers and executing these in a test or development environment
You will enter the tested scripts ready for the production environment
You would control the management of the existing test, development and training environment (monitoring Servers, checks snapshots, management tablespaces, management authorizations)
You manage the PDMs (physical data models) of all data models in body design and ensure that these are updated in line with the change requests.
Essential Skills:
A good knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and T-SQL
A knowledge of Oracle databases (11g)
A knowledge of SQL Server (2008 and higher)
You know at least the basics of working within an ITIL environment (especially change/release and to a lesser extent incident and request fulfillment)
At least 2 years of working in the IT Industry
Desirable Skills:
Experience in the optimization/tuning of databases
Knowledge of MySQL is definitely a plus
