The Digital Media Support Specialist serves as a resource person to faculty, teaching assistants and administrative users, providing technical and production assistance with regard to the development and use of media to achieve learning goals and outcomes. This position is responsible for integrating media Client Server applications in concert with media hardware to assist with the creation and delivery of multimedia services to support in-class, blended and distance learning instruction, as well as providing assistance to identified TEL and administrative projects.

Education:
University degree in a related field: Digital Media, Computer Science, Information Technology.

Experience:
1-2 year experience in end-user digital media and media Client Server technical support, preferably in an academic environment.

Skills:
Excellent communication skills in order to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical users (written and oral); very good analytical and evaluative skills; ability to work independently, set priorities and work effectively under pressure; ability to perform effectively as part of a team; ability to exercise tact and diplomacy; able to deal calmly and effectively with people; demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently and meet long/short term deadlines; ability to attend accurately to details; ability and willingness to keep abreast of technological developments; excellent organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to write clear, concise procedural documentation; and ability to conduct training sessions and instruct others. In-depth knowledge of Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Advanced skills in a range of computer applications, audio and video capture/edit software based systems, format conversion tools, media, database and course management Client Server systems, media production equipment and web based integration and collaboration tools.
