Contract Digital Engineer
A Contract Digital Engineer with digital circuitry, design and airbourne experience is required to work on a ten month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Edinburgh
This is a 10 month contract working for a UK leading defence client.
Overview of the Contract Digital Engineer contract role
A Contract Digital Engineer, experienced at senior engineer level is required to work on the design of FPGA based digital circuitry for an airborne application. The candidate is expected to have hands on experience of developing complex FPGA based digital circuitry, over the complete design and development life cycle, working to structured hardware/electronic design process.
Key skills required for the Contract Digital Engineer
- Experience of complex digital design based around FPGA technology from Xilinx, Altera and/or Actel.
- Ability to analyse system level documents and derive detailed hardware/electronics requirements.
- Experience of establish digital design architecture, utilising FPGA, in order to meet defined hardware/electronics requirements.
- Experience of component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout (actual PCB layout will be performed by in-house PCB layout engineers who the candidate will be required to provide direction to).
- Experience of integrating/de-bugging and testing of digital FPGA based designs and supporting module and system related test, verification and integration project phases as required by a development type programme prior to system deliveries.
- Methodical and thorough approach to Hardware/Electronic design, ideally working to a structured Hardware/Electronic process..
- Ability to communicate effectively across different disciplines both verbally and in written form.
- Ability to work on own or as part of a team to resolve technical issues.
The role is based in Edinburgh - commutable from Dundee, Perth, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Glasgow
