Description
We are seeking full-time or part-time Software Engineers and Bioinformaticians, with a specialization in cancer genomics, preferably residing in or near New York City, to develop novel methods and workflows that process and interpret massive amounts of DNA/mRNA sequence data from popular sequencing platforms.Responsibilities:
- Design and develop opensource software for use in bioinformatics workflows that analyze and interpret next generation sequence (NGS) data for cancer diagnostics
- Develop standalone tools, webservices, and user interfaces for visualizing results
- Test and benchmark performance, ease of use, and reliability of existing NGS tools
- Manage databases for sample, sequence, and workflow metadata
- Work with a multidisciplinary team of bioinformaticians, molecular geneticists, cancer biologists, and oncologists to provide technical support, and participate in the diagnostic workflow development life cycle
