Description
For one of my clients I am looking for a STB Architect for a contract job in Amsterdam.
Purpose statement
The purpose of this position is to support Set-Top Box (STB) roadmaps, requirements, specifications, and development. Activities will include mainly hardware aspects of the STB.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- MSc degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Must have three or more years direct exposure to STB hardware (CPU, tuners, HDMI, Wifi)
- Three or more years direct exposure to DVB, MPEG, H264, and Middleware
- Exposure to and understanding of operating systems and Real Time software
- Must be willing and able to adapt rapidly to changing priorities and technologies.
- Must have good interpersonal skills, to maintain and develop effective working relationships with other peers
- Must have good problem solving skills and attention for detail.
- Must be able to work under pressure and be prepared to work outside normal working hours when necessary.
- Must be proactive, with a desire to continuously improve system solutions, documentation and process & procedures.
- Excellent English.
Desirable skills and experience
- Exposure to and understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, RTSP, UPnP, DLNA
- Exposure to and understanding of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, JSON, SOAP)
- Exposure to and understanding of Conditional Access, DRM,
- Exposure to and understanding of DOCSIS
