Reporting to the Director of Marketing Communications, the ideal candidate will have at least five years of proven experience in marketing communications and public relations in a corporate environment. The Marketing Communications Associate will support the Marketing Communications Manager in the development of customer-focused communications vehicles including, but not limited to, trade advertising and content marketing, as well as trade media relations (news releases and supporting media inquiries).
Principal Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic communications deliverables in close cooperation with the Marketing Communications Manager to influence external and internal audiences and achieve business goals.
  • Support customer event management such as trade shows.
  • Help the Marketing Communications Manager manage business unit media interviews, including creation of a media guide with talking points and Q&A.
  • Assist with the implementation of e-marketing tactics and messages in the business websites and portals, both external and internal
  • Support internal communications to motivate employee engagement and commitment.
  • Write, edit and place success stories in internal communication vehicles
  • Work in collaboration with global communication colleagues from the divisions, as well as global and regional corporate communications to support communications, the business, team strategy and the brand
SKILLS:

Qualifications
  • Five years of business to business communications experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrable writing skills.
  • BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
  • Ability to develop marketing deliverables from communications plans, and work with business partners (sales, marketing, technical, legal) to manage development, implementation and evaluation of marketing communications plans.
  • Experience in media relations, including development and distribution of news releases.
  • Experience managing communications for trade shows & events.
  • High initiative, self-starter with project management skills and ability to work effectively under pressure and a heavy workload.
  • Experience in managing outside agencies and vendors.
  • Highly collaborative team player.
