Systems Engineer (Technical Lead) - DOORS, Windchill, Systems Architect
A Systems Engineer (Technical Lead) with experience using DOORS, Windchill and Systems Architect is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Edinburgh.
Overview of the Systems Engineer contract role
Act as Systems Engineer Tech Lead, leading all work associated with our client's project. Success will be measured by:
- The agreed accomplishment of technically defined verification statements and events.
- Timely resolution of system STW and integration issues as they arise at the factory, on shore and on platform.
- High level of support to integration and acceptance teams on shore and on platform.
Key skills required for the Systems Engineer
- Systems integration skills - progressive design, integration and verification of delivered subsystems
- Knowledge of Systems engineering processes and techniques, preferably in the naval domain.
- Ability to define and review technical acceptance criteria.
- Ability to promote and develop technical excellence within the team that will not compromise schedule.
Principal Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight and liaison with suppliers and clients during the modification, integration and installation of the Combat Management System (CMS) and INBS to support requirements.
- Produce engineering design documents and maintain the Engineering design baseline utilising DOORS, Windchill and System Architect.
- Support the successful CMS and INBS implementation and integration activities on shore and ship platforms.
- Provide CMS and INBS expertise for integration and commissioning activities, including readiness reviews, shore integration and platform integration on a Naval Programme.
- Raise, track and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) as they arise from platform, shore and suppliers.
The role is based in Edinburgh - commutable from Dundee, Perth, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Glasgow.
