Description:
- The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting production in driving process improvements with cross functional teams and driving New Production Introduction for Computed Tomography (CT)/Advanced Molecular Imaging (AMI) Global Operations. Drives excellence in Operations and in New Product Introduction transfers as demonstrated by world class quality, cost and delivery performance.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in all areas of work.
- Leading projects to improve the performance of the organization (faster, better, cheaper) to deliver the highest quality equipment on time.
- Communicate and integrate with the cross-functional team members to foresee and prevent problems before they interrupt operations.
- Map, Measure, Develop, and Implement best practices and continuous improvements on all products.
- Verify and/or validate manufacturing processes and procedures and report results as required.
- Support operations by troubleshooting, providing technical expertise, and timely investigations for the closure of issues.
- Provide commodity (supplier) support to ensure on-time/on-quality delivery of parts as well as timely implementation and coordination of design changes
- Work with suppliers to improve processes and quality issues
- Provide technical leadership for manufacturing on new product development teams to ensure a smooth transition into forward production. Including, technical training for Production personnel, supplier/first article evaluations, and associated manufacturing documentation (routings, process documentations, standard work instructions, test and tooling documentation etc.)
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) releases of systems by attending design reviews as a manufacturing representative.
- Serve on engineering design teams to review design changes, provide manufacturing business and technical input, mitigate development risks, and ensure the manufacturability of the design.
Requirements:
- Well versed in structured development and improvement techniques for high quality, high consistency build, test, and order fulfillment processes - such as black belt, MEDIC, FMEA, cause/effect analysis
- Must have 3-5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering, including Project Management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical or any other Engineering discipline, Masters preferred
- Experience in New Product introduction and design transfer into manufacturing
- Global experience in Manufacturing Operations and Supply Management
- Very strong influencing skills and ability to communicate well to all levels in the organization
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to present quality presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a highly technical environment.
- Conceptual thinker with excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate ideas across the various functions within the CT/AMI Business Units.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment desirable
- Six sigma Green/Black Belt desirable
- Program management expertise, tools and processes
