Proteus Europe are currently looking for an SQL Server database administrator for one of our clients based in Hampshire.

Job description:

Essential Skills / Attributes Required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a SQL centric role (SQL2008/R2/2012).
- Experience of working on live production systems.
- In depth SQL Server skills including:
o performance tuning,
o high availability,
o database configuration and management,
o applying database security practices.
- Strong T-SQL skills including query optimisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate with both technical
and non-technical colleagues and customers.

Additional Skills preferred.
- Using SQL 2012 - Always on- or Database Mirroring.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Networking and Windows Server inc Clustering.
- Experience using SSAS / SSRS / SSIS.
- Writing basic PowerShell scripts.
- Administering a Data Warehouse.

Responsibilites/Tasks:
- Maintenance, support and administration of production MS SQL database servers.
- Monitoring and improving system performance to ensure availability and performance of
databases and associated applications and interfaces
- Modification and manipulation of live transactional data for company and customer use within
databases.
- Provide database design and solution support to the development team. Implementation and
release of database changes.
- Ensuring that the database servers continue to operate under PCI-DSS requirements.
