Senior Data Architect

Description

The candidate will work with a team of business users, Java developers, architects and designers to implement applications given specific business requirements. The Architect must understand business objectives, translate them into application design, transition the application into operational status, and assist with application support and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Creates and maintains logical and physical data models

Performs physical design and performance tuning

Develops and implements a security strategy per established security standards

Creates and maintains the physical database schemas

Analyzes and incorporates data from interfacing systems

Assists in maintaining development database instances

Creates and maintains stored procedures

Generates test data

Attends use case reviews

Provides support for system migration activities and documentation

Reviews developer SQL for accuracy and performance

Assists in production problem resolution

Composes and executes ad hoc queries for user requests

Assists in troubleshooting database connectivity issues

Qualifications

5+ years experience in data analysis and Oracle database administration

Excellent written and oral communications

Experience with the following: Oracle SQL Developer or Toad for Oracle, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle RDMSUtilities, DML, DDL, and PL/SQL

Experience with the following a plus: Rational Data Architect, Hibernate, Rational Team Concert, Sun Unix operating system

Experience with Business Intelligence design concepts and Data Mart/Data Warehouse database design (Star Schemas) a plus.

Bachelors Degree in any field of study or commensurate experience required.
