Competitive Intelligence Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced EMEA Competitive Intelligence Manager

(CI Manager). The position provides an opportunity for high performing and motivated people with existing experience in CI to expand their horizons both from an EMEA and Analytics perspective.

As part of the Integrated Analytics team within EMEA Business Intelligence, The EMEA Competitive Intelligence Manager will work in close collaboration with the EMEA Business Insight Managers to bring key competitor insights to the attention of the EMEA Commercial Strategy Organization and Operating Companies to help drive successful commercial strategies. A critical role will be the contexting of Competitor Insights from multiple traditional and non-traditional channels and the delivery of a clear, opinion-based direction for the business.

Successful candidates will maintain close contact with their key partners in the Operating Companies, and have the opportunity for exposure to senior leaders throughout the EMEA Organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the processes for CI gathering and synthesis from multiple sources. Uses all relevant internal (eg CRM) and external (eg field intelligence, newswires, clinical trial databases, patents, congresses) to achieve optimal results.
  • Provide situational analysis support for business reviews, brand planning, launch readiness assessments, etc. through individual contribution and also management of a team of offshore CI professionals
  • As part of the brand planning process, ensures that the CI needs of the BI Managers and the CSO are captured and tactical plans for their delivery developed. Proactively detects business needs and issues that are currently not being addressed.
  • Manages and challenges existing and seeks out new CI agencies in order to continuously optimize CI methodologies and tools.
  • Proactively liaises with Global, EMEA, and operating company colleagues to leverage synergies
  • Subject matter specialist on all relevant CI methodologies and tools. Transfers knowledge to the organization by trainings in order to help business partners accomplish fact-based decision making.
  • Desired Skills and Experience

    • Undergraduate or graduate work in life sciences required; advanced degree in business or science preferred.
    • Three to five years' experience in CI in the healthcare industry and/or management consulting.
    • Demonstrated competency conducting research, distilling down vast amounts of data into concise summaries focused on the key implications for customers and strategy.
