Sr. Cloud Virtualization Engineer
Location: Suwanee, GA 30024
9 month contract
$50-60/hr depending on experience
Potential Contract -Perm on right candidate

OS experience - preferably Linux

QUALIFICATIONS
Solid understanding essential TCP/IP protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, and understanding of wider set protocols.
Firm understanding of fundamental concepts of Operating Systems and system components: memory, CPU, Kernel, daemons, file system types, LVM, boot loader, drivers, swapping
Firm understanding and experience using OS systems tools, commands, utilities, monitoring applications, diagnostic tools, configuration management tools, and performance analysis tools
Firm understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, firmware
Experience working with distributed, complex enterprise deployments including: multi-tiered environments, virtualization technologies, hypervisors, monitoring, storage and SAN, capacity planning, file systems, backups, load balancing, and general networking
Firm understanding and increasing experience in configuration best practices: security, partitioning, package installation, patch managements, user management, application installation, agent installation, access controls
Hands on experience with VMware ESX, ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, vCloud, and additional virtualization technologies and concepts
Hands on experience configuring, testing, troubleshooting on Cisco UCS platforms including Cisco 6200 Fabric Interconnects, and Nexus 1K/2K/5Ks
Experience configuring, deploying, and supporting highly available and redundant infrastructures to include virtual interfaces, clustering, HA, NIC teaming, dual homing, load balancing, disaster recovery
Orderly documentation, time management, and planning skills to include creation of support documentation, logical/physical diagrams, Operating Procedures, Run Books
Effective troubleshooting and analysis of individual systems and systems in distributed, enterprise environments. Ability to solve multi-faceted complex problems
Strong communication skills. Ability to convey technical requirements and concepts, commensurate to one's level, to technical and non-technical clients, vendors, and corporate audience
Ability to understand existing and develop new scripts to automate repetitive tasks through Scripting and deployment/implementation of management tools.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with 3 years of engineering experience or 4 years of commensurate virtualization technology experience.
Experience with Virtualization platforms (VMware)
Experience with Cloud Computing Platforms (VMware, Cisco, Microsoft and EMC)
Experience configuring and supporting server systems (Cisco UCS and Dell)
Networking knowledge, core routing and switching (Cisco)
Excellent written and oral communications, problem solving and process management skills.
Ability to work well within a team environment in a matrixed organization.
