Job Description
The electrical layout designer is responsible for the specification, design, realization and qualification of the infrastructure for the imaging sub systems. This electrical infrastructure consists out of the complete electrical path from sensor/actuator towards I/O and computational racks, meaning:
* I/O racks (backplane and rear panels)
* Computational racks
* Connection boxes
* Cabling
The following deliverables are created by the Electrical Layout designer.
* The functional overview describing the location of the diverse electronics parts in the (sub)system.
* The functional block diagrams describing the functions within the (sub)system on a high level
* The detailed wiring diagrams describing all the electrical connections with the (sub)system in detail.
* The cable overview giving the overview of all the cables with the (sub)system
* The specification (EPS) and qualification document (TAR) of the electrical infrastructure.
Education
Bachelor degree (HBO) in electrical engineering or higher.
Experience
* > 2 years of experience in printed circuited board design or electrical infrastructure design, preferable with the mentor graphics tool suite.
* Has experience with general electrical engineering principles and electrical development methods and processes (must have).
* Has knowledge of electrical connection methods, AC mains power and DC power distribution and signal transmission.
* Has knowledge on EMC and electrical safety (International (IEC) standards, US standards (NFPA, UL)
* Has knowledge on analogue and digital circuitry and power electronics
* Has the ability to set up cabling concepts.
* Has knowledge on cooling concepts
Optionally (but not our first choice): MSc/PhD starter with (internship) experience in Electrical Layout design.
