The Role
My client is looking for 2 EXPERT network architects with network-telecom-security expertise for defining my clients group network infrastructure policies and architecture.
The expert network architect will participate in different network/security related projects, touching network architecture from different types of kinds: datacentre networks, WAN networks, remote site networks.
You will need a good knowledge on all network domains: LAN switching, WAN routing (OSPF, BGP), MPLS, WIFI principles, QoS primarily based on Cisco technologies and network security competencies typically on devices like Firewalls, proxies, load balancers, primarily Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Bluecoat, F5 technologies
- You will participate in defining the strategic and tactical lines of the IT Master Plan for the Group's infrastructure plus the path for implementing and deploying it
- You will assess new requirements and develop of existing requirements in terms of infrastructure in your field and put forward possible solutions, you will document the feasibility and the financial impact of the alternatives proposed and choose the solutions that best correspond to the strategy laid down in this IT Master Plan for Group infrastructure
- You will support the technical architects and provide guidance for them in defining and describing in detail the infrastructure architecture for each project
- For the purposes of technical studies you will carry out impact, dimensioning and quantitative studies for the solutions proposed
- For the purposes of invitations to tender you will draw up the technical conditions in the contract specifications
- You will assure maintenance of the architecture infrastructure referencing in your field, so as to produce complete, consistent documentation of the current infrastructure landscape
- You will define, design and assure the maintenance of infrastructure norms and standards in your field, so as to bring a consistent response to current and foreseeable requirements
Technical Skills
Required:
Network: very good all-round knowledge on network and security technologies:
- LAN switching, WIFI, Quality of Service, spanning tree (Cisco hardware)
- Routing: BGP, OSPF, MPLS
- WAN provider environments, WOC services like Ipanema and Riverbed
- Datacentre network environments: DC core switching (Cisco Nexus)
- Security: good understanding of network security components - Firewalls, proxies, VPN, PKI, Load Balancers etc (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, F5, Bluecoat )
Desirable:
- Previous hands-on experience with network/security equipment
- Participation in RFP tender writing
- Experience with system architectures (server, OS, VM, SAN )
- Experiences with network performance management tooling
- Methodologies: knowledge of architecture framework TOGAF or similar
Other Skills
- Languages: French (very well spoken + reading/writing) - English (good spoken + reading/writing) - Dutch beneficial

- To the point, regular and transparent communication
- Good presentation skills - adapted management and also to technical teams
- Facilitating skills, resulting in compromises between different stakeholders (technical/non-technical)
- Assertive - able to convince people
- Can work independently (to lead studies) and in a team
