The FTTH services & network engineer collaborates to define high quality fiber access network & services solutions, which includes service architecture definition, equipment configuration, test & reporting.
Activities:
The FTTH services & network engineer will collaborate on the activities below:
Discussion with the business units and product managers to collect & clearly understand their requirements
Translate the business requirements in network & services architectures and propose improvements where it is possible
Engineering of the network equipment & management applications for the services provisioning & repair aspects.
Requirements definition & discussions for the IT integrations (OSS & BSS).
Lab evaluation & E2E testing
Problem reporting, follow-up, checking on possible workarounds
Support to the guidelines & M&P definitions

Good knowledge of equipment and technologies:
Ethernet & IP network engineering
Home gateways & home networking
Routers, Firewalls & Switches
International standards related to (optical) fixed access network: Broadband Forum TR156 or TR101, ITU-T G.984.x series, IEEE 802.3
Network protocols: IEEE 802.11, 802.1Q, PPPoE, ARP, IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, RTP, VOIP SIP signalling (IMS), LACP, IGMP, MPLS,
Quality of service on L2 and L3 networks (policing, shaping, )
Network security
Usage of measurement equipment (Emulators, traffic generator, Spirent Test Center, Wireshark, ), testing automation tools
Analytical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Experience in Ethernet and IP network engineering
