UX Designer

If you are a strong UX or IxD interaction designer, who enjoys working on exciting projects and in an environment which appreciates the value of Interaction Design, this opportunity may be worth exploring. Based in state of the art HQ, in Dublin CC. Initial 6 month contract, this will continue to roll/extend, typically for 3 years+.

Interaction/UX design opportunities, if you're a web or graphic designer who dabbles in interaction design, we will have different creative design opportunities to discuss with you.

Experience:

  • Interaction Design and UX Experience
  • Excellent interaction design and information architecture skills demonstrated in a portfolio.
  • Understanding of user-centered design approaches.
  • Experience running design workshops.
  • Speedy efficiency in at least one drawing/wireframing tool (Axure, Omnigraffle, etc.) and experience with prototyping tools.
  • Analytical skills to deconstruct requirements, and to identify and articulate the design challenge.
  • Creative problem-solving skills at all levels of detail: from the big picture to the nuts and bolts of interaction design.
  • Experience designing native and web apps, for both desktop and tablet devices.

Desirable:

  • Experience designing for children.
  • Educational or gaming content experience.
  • Working with co-located teams in different time zones.
  • Agile experience is a plus.

Duties:

  • You will lead stakeholders through the design process.
  • You will run workshops to help understand requirements, and to generate and iterate through multiple ideas.

A large part of your role will be leading stakeholders through the design process. Creative problem solving is a must, along with the ability to challenge conventional thinking and a willingness to take risks. You should be confident running stakeholder meetings to help understand requirements, and most importantly, to generate and iterate through multiple ideas. You will lead research activities such as persona development, user/customer journeys, competitive analyses, market landscape analyses, heuristic reviews and usability testing.

UX Designers produce high quality, detailed site maps, workflows, interactive wireframe prototypes, user flows and annotations - from a user experience perspective - with a strong working knowledge of the UX and UI development process in producing high quality contemporary digital product design.

Interaction Designers deliver will wireframes and UI componentry. You'll need to produce high quality, detailed site maps, workflows, interactive wireframe prototypes, user flows and annotations - from a user experience perspective - while also ensuring that layout, typography, imagery, color, interactive elements, etc. are designed to a high standard - from a visual design perspective.

You will join a growing team of interaction designers who are problem-solvers with excellent collaboration and communication skills. Your first instinct will be to reach for the Sharpie instead of retreating to Photoshop. They may look for a portfolio of sketches, experience maps, wireframes and clickable prototypes. They will look for examples of how you've persuaded teams to adopt a better design.
