Role: Instructional Officer

Location: Arborfield

Duration: 6 Months Initially with possible extension

Roles & Responsibilities:

Essential Experience:

  • There are currently vacancies for Specialist Instructional Officers (SIOs) within the School of Army Aeronautical Engineering (SAAE) at MoD Lyneham.
  • Successful candidates will initially work at Arborfield until August 15, when SAAE relocates to Lyneham under the Defence Technical Training Change Programme
  • The vacancy is in the Avionics Discipline.
  • The successful candidates will be responsible to either the Avionics or Aircraft Training Manager for classroom and practical instruction on a topic within the Avionics or Aircraft discipline and various allied subjects.
  • Ancillary duties include lesson preparation and the production of training support material. Responsibilities comprise the control and supervision of students including the application of Health and safety and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
  • A successful applicant will be expected to hold a HND in Aeronautical Engineering or similar qualification, teaching experience in Avionics Engineering is essential.
  • A detailed knowledge of Lynx, Gazelle and Apache aircraft Avionics will need to be demonstrated at interview.
