We are looking for a Systems Monitoring Analyst in IL, details:

Under minimal supervision, monitors, records, and reports irregularities within the Mainframe and Distributed computer system environment

Role: Systems Monitoring Analyst

Location: Bloomington, IL

Start: 2 weeks

Duration: 6 months

Monitors production operations.

- Monitors production batch schedules and work with the Processing Management Analysts to ensure batch cycles and online tasks are scheduled to process in the proper sequence and timeframe.

- Uses proper procedures to bring up online system tasks such as; CICS, Production Files, etc.

- Monitors Computer Room physical security systems/environmental equipment and responds in a timely manner to any situation that may disrupt vital services or critical corporate information.

- Identifies and resolves computer operations problems.

- Monitors, records, and reports irregularities in system software, business applications, system hardware, and system alerts for both Mainframe and Distributed System environments to designated 2nd level support staff.

- Assists application and system programmers, technical and vendor support staff with problem determination and resolution.

- Under direct supervision, corrects basic JCL errors as directed by Application & System programmers.

- Under direct supervision, performs Mainframe system functions such as IPL's and shutdown of equipment in emergency situations.

- Assists with training and projects.

- Assists with training new Computer Operations personnel.

- Assists the Computer Operations Management team with special projects and represent the department as a member on Divisional/Corporate committees.

- As needed may be assigned to assist the Infrastructure Support Analyst with connectivity testing and installation of structured wiring equipment according to best practices.

- Under direct supervision, prepares equipment cabinets, racks, and cable managers for installation of communication cabling, computer equipment, and fiber optic networks.

- Assists with performing network structured wiring installations, upgrades, and fixes.

- Performs other related work as required or requested.
