Finance Business Partner - Financial Modelling

My client, a leading Financial Institution is looking for a modelling focused qualified accountant to come onboard and be a key member of the Finance team which is responsible for managing the PPI provision. The job holder will develop a thorough understanding of the PPI provision model and assumptions in order to support the quarterly assessment of the provision, scenario analysis and business decisions. It is a high profile role with significant opportunity for exposure to senior management in the business and Finance as well as the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, provides an excellent platform for career development.

Responsibilities:

• Interrogating and understanding the provision model complexities and requirements
• Becoming a subject matter expert on the provision calculation methodologies
• Updating and tracking provision assumptions and drivers and understanding their impact as part of the quarterly provision reviews
• Running modelling scenarios around the provision including for capital adequacy purposes
• Calculating and assessing PPI provision allocations for the various legal entities
• Providing technical expertise and knowledge to the rest of the Finance team around the provision and its drivers
• Statistical modelling
• Interrogating current processes, identifying and implementing improvements

Requirements

• Qualified accountant
• Advanced Excel and modelling, analytical, Access and VBA skills
• Advanced statistical modelling and statistical analysis skills
• Knowledge of the Financial Services industry and in particular Retail Banking products and services
