Description

  • Support work assignments in the Offers, Bids & Proposals Group related to offer requests for customer agreements and non-standard pricing and/or terms.
  • The individual will report to and be directed by the Senior Manager of the Offers, Bids & Proposals Group to support pricing and compliance.
  • Responsible for preparing the necessary documentation and supporting analysis to support offer requests that are submitted for approval by sales, manage the subsequent approval process, and complete the approval notification process.
  • Working with Business Units (BUs) to formulate a recommended response strategy and supporting financial analysis with
    regards to the request in the offer submitted for consideration and approvals.
  • The financial analysis is a key component of the offer approval process.
  • The analysis will include the application of generally accepted accounting standards and Standard Terms and Conditions to accurately portray the financial aspects of the requested offer in terms of revenue recognition, vendor specific objective evidence analysis (VSOE), most favoured nations (MFN) analysis and compliance, profit and loss (P&L), and the implied margin results from the offer compared to current forecast.
  • Utilizing TM1 and other systems as necessary to gather data for the financial analysis and MFN analysis.
  • Generating offer letters, terms sheets, and supporting customer documentation as dictated by the offer response strategy.
  • Once offers are approved, communication to appropriate resources within the organization and closing of offer in the offer tool are required by the process.
  • Work with Contract Management to help validate customer pricing and terms for agreements.
  • Have a solid knowledge of the various products in order to complete offers across all BUs proficiently, with minimal or no supervision, and to complete offers for some of the more difficult bundle requests.
  • Management of the offer process requires self-initiative to drive the process toward approval and completion.
  • This effort includes working within the Marketing/Proposals, PLM, Finance, Legal and Technical Support organizations to obtain
    concurrence on an acceptable strategy and obtain the necessary approvals.
  • Other duties as required.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent with Microsoft® Word and Excel.
  • Proficient with using TM1® and Hyperion®.
  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing multiple projects/demands and working with minimal supervision.
  • Need candidates that have a strong Finance/Accounting background. Every bid/offer is different during the assignment.
  • Needs some that can handle unpredictable situations and that is a problem solver. This is NOT a typical accounting position - such as month end close. CPA not required. Also need someone that can work independently.
