MAIN OBJECTIVE OF JOB:

Reporting to the SHE Manager (Real Estate Solutions), this role supports the Real Estate & Facilities management team in our Real estate Solutions Business. With a dotted functional line to the heads of Real Estate & Facilities Management. Our aim is to maximise value to our client at every stage of management, from the effective and efficient maintenance of building facilities, to the regeneration of sites and providing solutions to contaminated land problems, to strategic real estate planning

As SHE Manager you will be responsible for the application of RES Safety, environmental and business continuity processes across Workplace Services ensuring alignment to Corporate and Statutory requirements. Also, our desire to maintain our world class safety health environmental and business continuity standards

The post-holder will be expected to work very closely with the Heads of Department, Real Estate Managers, Facilities Account Managers, Facilities Managers, wider facilities teams and WPS Service Providers to develop our culture and provide a seamless one stop service aligned with our business objectives, vision and strategy. This role will necessitate working closely with the wider SHE team within RES.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Responsible for Safety, Environmental and Business Continuity assurance across Real Estate and
Facilities
* Manage and deliver annual SHE/BCM audit programme for Real Estate/Facilities support wider RES
annual audit programme where required
* Support (and where delegated manage) external assessment by 2nd and 3rd parties.
* Manage (where delegated by SHE Manager) RES policies & procedures maintenance of our SHE Business Management System
* Prepare and analyse SHE/BCM performance across Real Estate and Facilities identifying areas of improvement and capitalising on strengths.
* Provide advice, guidance, identify common themes/preventative actions and share best practise on
SHE/BCM where appropriate
* Manage SHE/BCM training & development solutions and support the identification of initiatives which enable Real Estate/Facilities to be more effective
* Attend (or delegate to SHE Advisor in your absence) the Real Estate & facilities management meetings
* Manage (where appropriate) Safety/BCM due diligence on proposed new customers/and or sites which fall under the remit of Real Estate/Facilities.
* Support and promote sustainability within Real Estate/Facilities, co-ordinating with the Energy Manager to support SHE related initiatives across the Real Estate/Facilities portfolio.
* Maintain liaison with the external authorities, including the Health and Safety Executive, Local Health
Authority and Environment Agencies as necessary.
* Lead major Investigations of incidents, accidents and hazard reports along with other relevant persons
* Building excellent customer relationships.
* Support the management of our major contracting partners for example Sodexo and MITIE to ensure
RES Safety, Environmental and Business continuity standards are delivered to a highest standard.

Specific responsibilities are to:

BUSINESS EXPERTISE (company/industry knowledge):

* Demonstrable SHE & BCM experience in Facilities/Real Estate environments
* Understanding of the requirements of Quality Managements systems
*Experience of coaching, training, influencing and negotiating with staff at all levels to implement change and promote positive outcomes.

FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED (qualifications/experience):

* NEBOSH diploma level or equivalent.
* Certificate of Environmental Management via IEMA or equivalent.
* Certificated to Lead Auditor in at least one of the following: Environmental; Health & Safety or Quality
* Internal Auditor certification in Environmental and Health & Safety
* Thoroughly conversant with HSG65
* Thorough understanding of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 including auditor roles.
* Understanding of Business continuity management systems
* Working knowledge of ISO9001
*Excellent organisational skills
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Excellent interpersonal skills
*Excellent skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Responsible for providing SHE and Business Continuity Management advice across the Real Estate & Facilities teams.

SPECIALIST SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Proven track record of SHE preferably in a Real Estate/Facilities environment
* Thorough understanding of HSG65 and the requirements of SHE standards eg, ISO 14001 and
OHSAS 18001.
* Attained auditor competence
. Self motivating person with the ability to work within a small team
* Good communicator at all levels of the business with good presentation skills
* Methodical approach to collating information and record keeping
* Ability to use appropriate IT systems and packages
* Ability to form and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels within the organisation
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to perform and deliver under pressure with deadlines and/or circumstances
