My client, a world leader within the aerospace for designing and manufacturing satellites and other market leading products are currently looking for a Configuration Controller. This will be a 6 month contract with potential extensions and based in Portsmouth. As the Configuration controller you will be accountable for the correct registration and archiving of project documents (Internal and external) for distribution using the appropriate tools. For compiling and decompiling outgoing and incoming data packs.
Responsibilities as the Configuration Controller:
Managing and controlling project documentation in line with the project CADM plan & Program Security Instruction (PSI) under supervision of the project Configuration Manager and in collaboration with Project Manager PA Manager and Security Manager.
The Configuration Controller may from time-to-time be required to work on several projects under more than one detailed process.
Internal and External documentations management records documents in the PDM database (Or project specific Confidential database for confidential documents)
Control metadata - distribution of documents and data packs as required and in line with Security process.
Generate Reports and Metrics
Manage achieved storage of projects and guiding users of any document searching
Controlling the internal Cina box - an electronic box which allows you to upload documents
Propose process and tool improvement
Fully respect and follow confidentially and security rules and process at all times
Skills required:
Previous experience in a Configuration and Data Management (CADM) Assistant or Documentalist role
Previous experience of working in a secure or MOD environment.
Process improvement oriented

Good organisation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work autonomously
Adaptability to different team and project environment
Process and procedures whilst maintaining accuracy and performance
Good standard of education to GCSE/High school diploma/NVQ or similar and information system knowledge
Working with sensitive/secret/private Documents
60% of this role will require the Configuration Controller to be working remotely, therefore its important they have self-motivation and management skills.
