Our client is a leading defence company, they are looking for a contractor in there offices in Ash Vale for a 12 month contract.
Job Description
Core Duties Include:
- Undertaking combat system integration trials both on and off site to support the current in-service fleet of Submarines.
- Design proving and integration of Combat Systems Equipment including networks, databuses, visual equipment, optronics, radar, navigation, weapon systems & sonar.
- Integration and testing of new releases of software for combat systems equipment.
- Installing and testing new combat systems hardware.
- Conduct of trials and defect investigations on combat systems equipment.
- Combat Systems fault finding, analysis & diagnosis.
- Offline analysis of test and trials results.
- Production of integration test procedures, documentation & technical reports.
- Production of cable data sheets and drawings to support new and current combat systems.
Additional Information
- Combat Systems Integration and Testing in Industry or Armed Forces.
- Experience or working within a systems engineering environment and knowledge of how systems are integrated and tested.
- Experience of Interface Protocols and Standards [IE: RS 422, RS 232, 1553 Databus]
- Experience of fault finding and investigation on electronic and computer systems.
- Particular deep skills, knowledge and experience in at least one area of combat systems is highly desirable.
- Experience of modern computing and networking such as shared computing, virtualisation and IP Networks highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Key Knowledge will Include:
- Experiance in industry or Armed Forces.
- Qualified to degree level [Or Equivalent] with suitable experience in Combat System Integration or able to provide evidence or equivalent.
- Systems engineering across the life cycle.
- Integration and testing of electronic systems.
- Broad knowledge of naval combat systems.
- Particular deep skills, knowledge and experience in at least one area of combat systems is highly desirable.
- Experiance of modern computing and networking such as shared computing, virtualisation and IP Networks highly desirable.
The Individual
Ideally educated to at least HNC level in Systems Engineering or equivalent working experience.
