We are hiring a Windows System Administrator to work onsite at our Tier One Banking client in Jersey City, NJ.

RECENT INVESTMENT BANKING/FINANCIAL SERVICES EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED)
Key responsibilities:
- Windows 2000,2003,2008(R2) operating system support
- Core agent support:
- Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Symantec ESM
- Tivoli Storage Manager
- BMC BladeLogic
- Nimsoft
- HP Insight agent
- Snare
- Windows hotfix/security patching
- Annual Windows server maintenance plan
- Incident/problem ticket resolution
- Ad-hoc project work related to Windows Server OS and core agents
- Change control administration and implementation
- Provide ad-hoc weekend support to facilitate scheduled changes or project work.
- Provide on-call support including weekend online shift cover
Essential Skills:
- At least 5 years' experience working as a Systems Administrator, in a team supporting 1000+ Windows Servers.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows XP/NT/ OS.
- HP Server Hardware platform (predominately DL & BL and C Class Blade series)
- VMWare/Virtual Centre experience
- Experience of Firewalling Servers and opening ports with Network Teams.
- Experience of locking down access to Servers, using Policies, scripts or any other methods.
- EMC SAN storage connectivity and replication (Windows client only)
An excellent understanding of the following technologies:
- TCP/IP
- WINS/DNS
- DFS
- Network Topologies
- Active Directory
- MS Security patch deploy (BladeLogic)
An excellent understanding of the following script languages:
- PowerShell
- VBScript
- ASP
Preferable Technical Skills:
- Experience of working within a large financial/Investment Banking environment.
- Working knowledge of TSM backup client.
- Experience of IBM Server hardware
- Windows Clustering
- An understanding of Terminal Server and Citrix technologies.
- VMWare ESX4 or higher Administration/build/configuration
- An understanding of BMC BladeLogic Server Automation Console
- Familiarity of ITIL practices
A good understanding of the following technologies:
- TSM Backup technology
- Tivoli event monitoring
- HP Insight Manager Console
- Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Symantec ESM
- SQL Server
- MS Access
You will have:
- MCSE 2000, 2003 and 2008 desirable
- Technical/information sciences degree preferable
- Considerable experience in proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of Windows Server OS and application issues.
Solid knowledge of at least three of the following:
- Microsoft Clustering
- Active Directory
- Citrix
- VMWare
- DFS
- Powershell
- VB
- Windows based application installs
- NetApp Filers.
