Factory Accountant - ASAP Start - 6 Month Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experience accountant to join a well known construction and engineering company in our Wednesbury offices. The sccessful accountant will provide professional financial support to the Wednesbury Manufacturing Facility and Site Services plant hire businesses ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, in accordance with the company's requirements.

Accountabilities;

  • Responsible for preparing timely and accurate monthly management accounts and other financial reports, complying with all relevant accounting policies and
  • Act as a financial partner to the relevant leadership teams to ensure all financial issues are robustly and effectively managed and reported.
  • Support operational management to drive business performance to achieve agreed targets.
  • Support operational management to implement the processes and controls required to deliver effectively the new strategy for WMF
  • Manage the balance sheet, cash flow and credit control routines for WMF and SS in accordance with the company and Group policy.
  • Work closely with the Commercial teams to understand and influence business performance and manage risks.
  • Accountable for accurate cash flow forecasting and credit checks on clients, JV partners and key supply chain partners where applicable.
  • Ensure risk is effectively managed and reported.
  • Prepare budgets, Strategic Road Map and forecasts for WMF and SS.
  • Analyse and report on key business financial information for WMF and SS. Put in place and report appropriate KPI's
  • Provide constructive challenge and input into business review meetings to ensure that issues and risks are identified, reported and addressed
  • Support tender review and/or tender adjudication meetings, as required
  • Be proactive in identifying "weak signals" and leading indicators that may result in budget variances and liaise with line and commercial managers as appropriate
  • Undertake ad hoc reporting and analysis

The individual will be a qualified accountant. Relevant experience gained within a factory environment is essential and a contracting/projects/manufacturing background is essential. They will require strong influencing and communication skills, with an ability to command respect at all levels of the organisation. The ability to be independent and objective, whilst maintaining effective relationships, is essential
