Combat Systems Modelling Engineer

A Combat Systems Modelling Engineer with CECS, Defence and Systems experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Surrey.

This is a 6 month contract working for a UK leading defence company.

Overview of the Combat Systems Modelling Engineer contract role

Our client are currently recruiting for a Combat Systems Modelling Engineer to work ss part of the team designing the Submarine Common Combat System (CCS) a system modeller is required for the Common External Communications System (CECS). Update and manager the CECS system model using the Enterprise Architect Modelling tool.

Key skills required for the Combat Systems Modelling Engineer

  • Modelling of the CECS behaviour in the physical and logical domains along with the management of the CECS system model.
  • Analysis of the CECS behaviour and modelling of this behaviour in EA for new requirements.
  • Manage the link between EA and the ECS DOORS requirements modules.
  • Write complex database queries to produce requirement justifications.
  • Support the development of design documentation through tailored EA outputs.
  • Support the change management process through updating EA and its outputs as required.
  • Provide progress metrics, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans.
  • Undertake peer reviews or checking/verification tasks as directed.
  • Articulate and present detailed technical argument clearly, logically and simply.
  • Gain a clear understanding of and apply the quality and safety, health & environment management system documentation applicable to the particular work scope.
  • Liaise with both internal and external customers as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed.
  • Generation of technical requirements to enable procurement from sub-contractor suppliers.
  • Liaison with Combat Systems CECS Team, customers and suppliers to agree system design solutions, coherent with the Combat System Design.
  • Preparation for & presentation at CS Design Reviews.

The role is based in Surrey - commutable from Aldershot, Farnborough, Wokingham, Bracknell, Chertsey, Weybridge, Woking, Guildford, Farnham, Winchester, Basingstoke and Reading with excellent access from Hampshire and Berkshire
