  • This Assistant Maintenance Engineer role will work directly with and under the direction of the Maintenance Engineers.
  • General responsibilities are to support the Maintenance Engineers in their day-to-day duties to maximize the maintenance related up time and operating efficiencies of equipment and facility assets.
  • The Assistant ME will also be responsible for helping to optimize Preventative Maintenance (PM) strategies and for updating the associated planning and tracking systems.
  • This position will have the opportunity to interact with the Operations Areas in a business partner arrangement to achieve mutual production and up time goals.
SKILLS:

Education:
  • The ideal candidate will have finished at least 3 years of their course work toward a BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an Accredited Institution.
  • A relatively new graduate with a BS Degree in either of these disciplines would be a plus.
Experience/Skills
  • Some work experience (related field not necessary) is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new systems is required (success in this role will require efficient use of several different computer systems that are used to manage and run the Maintenance programs on site)
  • The work environment ranges from office, to plant, to Maintenance shop.
  • The worker will frequently have the potential to be exposed to operating mechanical equipment in a normal operating environment including work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Use of hearing, eye, hand and foot protection is required and will be supplied.
  • Personal Protective Equipment applicable to the task must be worn at all times.
    Junior Maintenance engineer, they will be doing processing and evaluation of spare parts.
  • Documentation in storage system, getting parts ordered etc.
  • Candidate does not have to have their degree yet, but someone with a mechanical focus.
  • Candidates will be working with CMMS/EMAS.
  • Open to entry level candidates or even a student on a break etc...
  • This person needs to feel comfortable and be able to approach a wide range of people, including Maintenance Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, Operations Engineers, Operators, Team Leaders, etc.
  • This person will get their day-to-day tasks and supervision from the Maintenance Engineers
  • Understanding of Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to learn new computer systems quickly
  • Ability to integrate with and work as part of a team
  • Self Starter and able to complete tasks on your own after receiving initial information, guidance and training
  • CMMS
