Job Summary;
Continuing contact with children and young people who have special educational needs, learning difficulties, behavioural problems. Working with schools, early years' centres, children and their carers to achieve positive change in children and adults through the application of evidence based psychology.
Candidate Profile
Masters Level BPS accredited professional qualification as and Educational Psychologist in England
Qualified Teaching Status including a DfES number
2 years practice as a qualified teacher
Or
Three year doctoral training in educational psychology.
Relevant experience of working with children as an Educational Psychologist within educational, childcare or community settings.
Understanding of Child Protection and relevant legislation.
Knowledge of social diversity and equal opportunities and the ability to demonstrate this throughout all aspects of practice
Ability to communicate effectively and fluently using appropriate style both verbally and in writing.
The ability to work in partnership with parents/carers, other professionals and agencies.
Ability to use own initiative and take responsibility where appropriate
Understanding of Child Protection and relevant legislation.
