Netsource are working with a client who are looking for an Exchange Connectivity Specialist who can join their Application Services Team. This team is responsible for keeping the connection between the bank and the outside world. They need someone to manage and maintain the technical interface between the bank and execution venues.

The role will involve:

Mandatory Exchange Updates

  • Responsible for infrastructure changes required to meet mandatory exchange upgrades for Equities Exchanges, Commodities Exchanges, Power exchanges, and Clearing connections. This includes providing support to cross asset class application teams FX, Rates, Equities, Commodities, Listed Derivatives and Clearing.
  • Raising Firewall, requesting exchange sessions, routing and multicast network changes related to exchange upgrades.

Third Level Support

  • Providing third level technical support function to assist SL1/SL2 and GNS support teams to resolve the more complex exchange connectivity infrastructure issues, involving market data, routing, circuit issues etc.

Infrastructure design and implementation

  • Working with all application teams to understand, define and document network connectivity requirements linked to any CTB changes
  • Documentation of the application to Exchange network and Firewall environment
  • Optimisation of the network and Firewall infrastructure.
  • Requirements analysis, Technical design, project management, and implementation of new exchange connections or capacity upgrades. This includes the routing, IP Addressing, NAT configuration, network diagrams, arranging cabling and physical equipment installation.
  • Working with Global Networks to design and implement new exchange connections, in core and Co-Location.
  • Attending technical meetings with the exchanges and other external 3rd parties such as BT Radianz, TNS, Savvis etc.
  • Documenting the exchange connectivity and handing services over to operational SL1/SL2 support.

You will require:

  • Detailed knowledge of the Exchange connectivity environment across all asset classes
  • Detailed knowledge of the network technologies used to connect investment banking application to external venues including multicast technologies
  • Ability to work with a wide range of application and network technologies commonly employed in the investment banking electronic trading environment
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of resources across the group including application development teams, Exchanges, internal network, Firewall and production management resources.
