In this role, the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for senior level management and maintenance of the LAN/WAN environment systems. The Senior Network Engineer will oversee the daily up keep and administration of the network infrastructure and systems. As a Senior Network Engineer, this individual will also be responsible for the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure and architecture. The Senior Network Engineer will be expected to show leadership and mentor other engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design technologically advanced solutions to meet multiple business units' objectives and requirements
  • Provide engineering, design, and technical leadership and support for business units and/or internal network projects
  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure telecom systems capacity meets existing and future requirements
  • Create network designs and work with vendors to produce accurate BOMs
  • Develop implementation plans, verification plans, and production support documentation
  • Develop network standards based on industry best practices
  • Design and implement network monitoring solutions for security, network capacity and performance and proactive fault monitoring
  • Create and update network topology diagrams
  • Provide tertiary technical assistance to IT support staff

Requirements:

  • Expert Cisco network engineering experience with Routers, Switches, LAN protocols, WAN protocols, QoS, and dynamic routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP and OSPF)
  • Master of designing, configuring, and implementing highly complex Cisco routing and switching network environments
  • Extensive hands-on experience with designing, implementing and configuring security network environments utilizing Cisco ASA, ACS and VPN concentrators
  • Expert ability to apply principles, theories and concepts, as well as knowledge or related networking disciplines
  • Highly advanced understanding of WAN/LAN internetworking, including design elements, cost versus performance tradeoffs, protocol interoperability, network architecture development and requirements for testing/proof of concept
  • Extensive hands-on experience with designing, implementing, and configuring VoIP and video conferencing network environments
  • Extensive hands-on experience with designing, implementing, and configuring 801.11 wireless network environments utilizing autonomous APs, lightweight APs, mesh APs, and wireless LAN controllers
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Superior technical documentation skills, particularly MS Visio
  • Work well within a team, adapt easily to change, and possess the flexibility to travel up to 20%
  • Must be able to handle 24x7 on call rotations. Currently the rotations are approximately once every eight weeks
  • Bachelor degree or 6 years of equivalent experience is required
  • CCNP level certification required
  • CCIE is a plus
